Welcome to Kubuntu on your netbook running Plasma Netbook10.10, the Lucid Lynx release. Plasma Netbook was designed for netbook computers that typically have screens 10 inches or less and don't have optical drives. It is designed to run on systems with reduced hard drive capacity.

Plasma Netbook aims to meet the unique requirements of the netbook community. From a built-in 3G modem to the resolution for a smaller screen, it is designed to make computing faster and simpler for every type of user.

Built from the Plasma Netbook has two main desktop environments - one for Applications and one for Plasma Widgets. A Panel at the top of the screen is common between the desktops. Switching between the desktops environments is accomplished with a Widget on the left end of the Panel.

The user interface differs from other netbook environments. Each application category is displayed along with a blank area just below the Panel. To change the layout of the interface or to move Widgets, there is a small tab in the top right-hand area of the display. Clicking on this tab brings up a menu, which allows changes and also unlocks the Widget locations.

While viewing application categories, a button labeled "Home" will appear in the upper left of the desktop. Clicking the Home icon returns the application category overview.
