<application>Geany</application> is a text editor using the <trademark>GTK2</trademark> toolkit with basic features of an integrated development environment. It was developed to provide a small and fast <acronym>IDE</acronym> with only a few dependencies on other packages. It supports many file types and has some nice features. <application>Glade</application> is a <trademark>GPL</trademark><acronym>IDE</acronym> tool to enable quick and easy development of user interfaces for the <trademark>GTK+</trademark> toolkit and the <trademark>GNOME</trademark> desktop environment. The user interfaces designed in <application>Glade</application> are saved as <acronym>XML</acronym>, and by using the GtkBuilder <trademark>GTK+</trademark> object these can be loaded by applications dynamically as needed. By using <application>GtkBuilder</application>, <application>Glade</application><acronym>XML</acronym> files can be used in numerous programming languages including <trademark>C</trademark>, <trademark>C++</trademark>, <trademark>Java</trademark>, <trademark>Perl</trademark>, <trademark>Python</trademark>, and others.
