When the editing is complete, save the image by going to <menuchoice><guimenu>File</guimenu><guisubmenu>Save</guisubmenu></menuchoice>. Navigate to the folder where the file should be saved, enter a <userinput>filename</userinput>, and <mousebutton>left</mousebutton>-click the <guibutton>Save</guibutton> button. Files can be saved as Plain <acronym>SVG</acronym> or as <application>Inkscape</application><acronym>SVG</acronym>. There is additional information inside <application>Inkscape</application><acronym>SVG</acronym> images that is not used by other <acronym>SVG</acronym> image editors.
