After physically removing it, wait a few seconds and then insert it back into the computer. Open <application>Startup Disk Creator</application> and continue with the following steps.

There are two options for making the startup disk. Select <guibutton>Stored in reserved extra space</guibutton> if the <acronym>USB</acronym> flash drive will be used to run the <phrase>Kubuntu</phrase> desktop live. Use the slider to select the amount of storage space. The other option, <guibutton>Discarded on shutdown, unless you save them elsewhere</guibutton> will not store data on the device.
